Indian Summer

What joy! This delicious pattern springs directly from conversations of a felicitous affinity between block-printed cotton from Jaipur and sponge-printed earthenware from Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire. This gorgeous pattern is made of informal repeats of stylised but recognisable tiny pink carnation-cousins known as Pinks. The colours are rich and pleasing and, they sing of summer and happiness, whilst the associated pattern of Diamond Blocks is a strong companion: combining the 2 patterns feels like playing with printed cotton scraps to make a patchwork quilt.
 
All the associations of this design are full of joy- combining summer gardens, evening time in Jaipur, the prettiest flowers, and the deep deep satisfactions of making and decorating.
